The Nazis have won the Second World War - the Earth, the Moon and the colonized planets are now part of one vast, far-reaching police state ruled by the descendants of the Thrird Reich. In this grim tomorrow, a Nordic ccomposer finds a woman's corpse on the road near his home...and knows that this terrifying disovery can lead to his arrest and death.

But he doesn't know this event will bind his fate to that of Wyvern, a telepath on the run from Nazi scientists; and to that of Tyne, a government spy in love with an alien - both players in humanity's alternative futures, both parts of the composer's betrayal...or his last chance for escape.
